Lush Christmas Range

I picked up a couple of bubble bars from the Lush Christmas range to try.

From the Lush website:

Candy Mountain - 'Candy Mountain creates mounds of fluffy, fragrant, pearly white bubbles with a drift of pink. Crumble in your bath for a sugar sweet treat you won’t feel an ounce of guilt for indulging in!'

Christmas Eve - 'Crumble under a running tap and lie back amongst the masses of calming jasmine and ylang ylang scented bubbles and blue bath water.  Perfect to help calm excited minds enough to get a good night sleep.  There’s also some Irish moss powder (a type of seaweed) in there to soften the skin and make the water silky.'

Both smell lovely and I can't wait to have a bath!

Mini Australis Review - Velourlips Matte Lip Cream

Big W recently had $3 off all Australis products so I grabbed a few new things to try.

The Lip Treatment Trio is great, an exfoliator, balm and gloss which has a teensy hint of colour.

I haven't tried the mascara yet but I have been using the Tint My Brows. I was hoping for a dupe of the benefit one but no such luck. It's a mini tube but still a full size spooly which makes it a bit messy to apply. The colour is good in the tube but it randomly applies really dark, almost black. Weird.

Ok lets talk about the much hyped Australis Velourlips Matte Lip Creams. I'm still not sure about them. I love the colour payoff and how easy they are to apply but they stay tacky and others have said that they are budgeproof but I find they smear really easily. Still going to keep using them though. Oh and the smell is delicious! Like grape Hubba Bubba.

Lastly I got a new do. Wasn't planning on going lighter but my hairdresser likes to do her own thing. I do like it though luckily!

Haul - Shopping Alone!

I had a chance to do a little shopping on my own which is super rare! Finally used my Country Road spend and save on a few things for my upcoming holiday, a beach bag, cosmetic bag and hat. The hat is awesome as it's made of a 'crushable' paper so it's perfect for packing.

I received a Priceline loyalty voucher and there wasn't really anything I needed but I've heard good things about the Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circles Eraser so I grabbed one of those to try. It looks very pink in the swatch so I'll be interested to see how it goes. With 2 boys under 3 I certainly have some dark undereye circles! I've been looking for a navy eyeliner for a while and I swatched this Models Prefer one in store and it was gorgeous with a very slight shimmer. When I got home I swatched the one I bought and it's different, it's sheerer and no shimmer. Very disappointed!

It's been ages since I have read an actual book. I get so caught up with technology ie; blogs, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook etc etc, that I haven't really been interested in reading. We are going on a short getaway soon and I thought what better time to get back into it!

I chose this as it seems like a light read, perfect for laying next to the pool. Ahhhhh...

Decided to try a new shower gel and handwash. OMG these smell soooo good!

And that's it for my haul! Have you read any good books lately? Any recommendations?

Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon

I've wanted to try these for ages and Priceline recently had 25% off the entire Bourjois range but when I went to buy them there was only one left in the colour Fuschia Libre. Of the four shades available I initially wanted the orange and coral colours but bought the bright pink one to try out the formula. So far I really love it. It is like a sheer lipstick but with good colour payoff and glossier. The colour is long lasting but the glossiness is not, I have to reapply every 2 or so hours.

It's great for wearing to work as it can be reapplied quickly and while it is a hot pink it's not as bright as a lipstick. Now to hunt down the other colours...

Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman

I've been so excited to try these brushes and they have finally arrived.
I ordered from iherb.com, super fast and cheap shipping, US prices and coupon codes. Sorry Priceline I would rather buy from an Australian retailer but for almost 3 times the price? Sorry no way!

Use the code HDG664 for $10 off your first order of $40 or more.

I've only tried the stippling brush so far and I love it! Can't wait to try the rest.

Also got this Elf eye primer to try.

My eyeshadow always creases and I am yet to find a primer that prevents it so we'll see how this one goes.

Life

Why hello there, long time no see!

Now that my boys are a little older I am getting back into fashion and beauty albeit on a budget.

Those that follow me on Instagram would have seen most of these pictures before, those that don't - why not?!

Have had a haircut.

Before:

After:

Not a drastic change but it's nice to get my hair off my neck. It has also faded a lot and is more of a light golden blonde. Will have to put my purple shampoo to good use.

Splurged on some new makeup. I used to use MAC Studio Fix Fluid but stopped because it's expensive. I have to say I am so glad to be using it again!

I had my nails done for the first time in years and decided to try out stiletto nails.

I really love them so might keep them for a while.

That's about it from me. Hopefully I'll be back to blogging more often again and I can try to sort out a mirror so I can do some outfit snaps again.
