To Lob or Not to Lob

So inspired by the lovely Reezy at peanut butter & honey I've decided to cut my hair again.

I had it cut from bum length to a lob (long bob) just after my first son was born and now that I'm almost due with my second I'm getting the itch to cut it again.

My current hair length

I'm thinking something along the lines of these:

So my question is, seeing as though it's a pretty straightforward cut ie; not too many layers or a fringe/bangs or anything like that, would you assume that it's ok to go somewhere more affordable like Just Cuts to have this done? I have a hairdresser that I have been to for the last 6 years and just recently decided to colour it myself instead to save some cash (thanks to some help from some lovely Vogue forum ladies) and I'm very pleased with the result! So should I trust a 'cheaper' hairdresser to cut it also? Rather than paying more than triple just because I've been going to the same place for so long?? Anyone had a similar experience?

Great Lengths

I've been using an Australis mascara for a while now and I've never been that happy with it but it can be very overwhelming choosing a new one as there are so many out there. I'd heard good things about the Maybelline mascaras so I thought I would give one a try.

Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies

I've been very happy with this and couldn't believe the difference from my old one. When I saw the whole Maybelline range on sale in Woolworths for $10 each I grabbed a different one to try.

Maybelline Volum' Express One by One

At first I found this one a bit trickier to use as it has a bendy rubber wand and spikes so it didn't seem to grab the lashes as well, but after a few goes I realised that it actually was putting a much finer layer of mascara over every lash, making it easier to do multiple layers without clumping.

Overall I'd say that now I tend to grab the Falsies for when I want a quick layer of mascara and when I am taking more time to do my make up I go for the One by One. Very happy with both!

NOTD: 22nd April 2012

I love freshly painted nails!

Revlon Top Speed in 710 Cloud with Essence 04 Space Queen over the top

Probably should have done 3 coats instead of 2.

Please excuse my sausage fingers, my hands and feet are so swollen this pregnancy!

ASOS Maternity

I definitely buy from ASOS all the time but I keep putting off trying their maternity range. I'm currently 31 weeks into my second pregnancy so I guess it's now or never!

ASOS Maternity Skinny Jean in Calypso Coral

ASOS Maternity Skinny Jean in Cornflower Blue
My sister in laws engagement party is in mid June and I will be 38 and a half weeks pregnant. The dress code is smart casual so I thought one of these would be nice with some taupe ankle boots and a white or cream top - but it needs to be warm because it will be the middle of winter! I was thinking either a cream blazer (which I already own) or a nice fitted sweater but I've yet to see anything I like. Also probably a nice chunky necklace? I'm a bit stumped otherwise so suggestions are welcome!

Essence

So when I'm bored and the little mister is asleep I like to watch YouTube makeup gurus. Don't judge. And the word on the street is that Essence Cosmetics has arrived in Australia, to be stocked in Target only at this point in time. When I heard about how cheap they are going to be sold here I hightailed it to my nearest Target (or 3) to check them out for myself.

Yes it looks like a lot but seriously $1.00 for an eyeliner?! How could I say no!

So far I'm loving the blush in 'Fashionista' and the blush souffle in 'Prima Ballerina' but I haven't had a chance to try out much of the others yet. I'm very much looking forward to doing so though!

Bandwagon

So yes I have jumped on the Revlon Lip Butter bandwagon. And I am proud to do so. Because these things are awesome. I love wearing lipstick but I am a shocker at getting it on my teeth all the time. It annoys me how much lipstick dries my lips out. I love the look of gloss but hate the stickiness. Yay for lip butters!

I got mine in the Priceline buy one get one free promotion but there are also lots of Ebay sellers selling them at much lower prices than AU RRP of $21.95! I think 6 is plenty for now though...
